SOCIAL CALENDAR: The lodge has put together a social calendar for the next year.  Please mark your calendars with the dates.  Please note some of the new exciting gatherings planned!

MEMBERSHIP DUES:  Don’t forget your annual membership dues.  Members not staying current with their dues will be dropped from membership and lose their years as a member if they rejoin.

MONTHLY MEETING: We would love to see your faces!  Haven’t been to monthly lodge meeting in a while? Please mark your calendars and join us!  We invite fresh ideas and involvement.

CAVATELLI DINNER:  A big “Thank you” to all that helped with this year’s Cavatelli Dinner.  It was a great success with tons of compliments!  We served over 1200 dinners to raise scholarship money for our lodge members’ families.

SHELTER:  The shelter area is available to Lodge & Auxiliary Members and their families for picnics and other social gatherings.   Remember to contact AJ Forneris at 515-971-6711 to reserve the shelter area.  Also, the bocce ball court is available for play and there is a fire pit for your enjoyment. 

ORDERING LODGE APPAREL:  Squire Hutcheson has made arrangements with Adventure in Advertising offering Lodge & Auxiliary Members through a secure website to purchase apparel (polo, T-shirts) with the Lodge logo on it.  To obtain a user ID or for more information please contact Squire at 515-577-4283 or email him at squire@squireweb.net.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Applications for college scholarships are due by June 1^st and will be awarded at the June dinner.  Send to Bill Magnani at the Vittoria Lodge

CLEAN-UP DAY: Mark your calendars for May 19^th for lodge clean-up day.  We appreciate all the help we can get to keep our lodge and grounds beautiful!

NOVEMBER MEETING 

Our last meeting for 2018 will be on November 18^th at 2:00 pm.  Marie Hutchison and Vicki Hutchison Cook will provide refreshments.

6^th ANNUAL CHRISTMAS AT THE LODGE – NOVEMBER 3^RD 10:00 am to 3:00 pm 

Plan to join us for our annual Craft, Vendor and Bake Sale.  No charge to attend and all the proceeds from the Cavatelli and Bake Sale go directly to the auxiliary to fund our annual scholarships.  We have some amazing vendors lined up this year so please get out and support them!! “Cavatelli-To-Go” will be served from 11:00 to 1:00 so come hungry.

Auxiliary members are asked to donate items for the Bake Sale – drop off Friday Nov 2^nd from 5:00 to 7:00 or the morning of the event.

MEMORIAL MASS

The Memorial Mass will be held Sunday November 4^th at 9:00 am.  Those being honored by the auxiliary include Wanda Turchi and Mary Ladurini.  Donuts and coffee will be served following the mass.

CHRISTMAS PARTY 

This year’s party will be held on December 9^th at 1:00pm.  This event is open to lodge and auxiliary members, widows, and their families.  Santa will have gifts for children ages 0 – 10.  Please bring along donations of cookies, cakes, etc.… for the cake walk so we have enough for each child to win at least once.  As always we will be collecting items for the local food pantry so please bring what you can spare.

JANUARY SOCIAL 

We had so much fun last year we are doing it again.  Bunco Night – January 12^th at 5:00 pm.  We will hold our January meeting at 3:00 pm.  We will supply pizza – please bring and appetizer, dip, sweet, etc. to share and something for you to drink. At the annual Columbus Day Dinner presented by the Italian American Cultural Center of Iowa, President Jim Forneris of the Vittoria Lodge presented a $7,500 donation to the Cultural Center to be used as a payment on the principal of the Cultural Center’s mortgage.

The donation came from the proceeds earned by the Vittoria Lodge’s efforts at this year’s Italian American Heritage Festival of Iowa.

In appreciation for their donation, the Cultural Center sent a cake and a letter of thanks to the Vittoria Lodge at their October meeting.

The women of the Vittoria Lodge Auxiliary held a marathon biscotti baking session on Saturday, July 10  to bake biscotti to sell a the  Viva L’Italia festival.  They worked hard and accomplished a lot of biscotti.  Below is a slideshow of a lot of fun in the kitchen!
